We can only anticipate what the trip conditions will be prior to the trip; and they are subject to change based on the weather information for that day; therefore, the overall trip rating and the required skills needed to safely attend the trip, may be upgraded on the day of the trip. This eventuality includes the possible cancellation for some or all its participants; or the postponement of a trip for the following day. By signing up for a club trip, the participant assumes the risk that such a cancellation may occur, even as late as on the shoreline.

We are hosting a 'Try A Kayak Day' hosted by Club Members who will be bringing their Sea and Recreational Kayaks for you to try out. It's a great opportunity for you to try a kayak before you buy.
There will be a wide variety of models, lengths from different manufacturers for you to paddle...Try out as many as you like!
In addition, there will be some retailers that will provide kayaks and paddles for you to try.
All the necessary safety equiment will be provided for participants.
If you are considering taking up this amazing sport, we encourage all who are not HOC Members to sign up and become members.
This will give you access to all Club sports/events which include Kayaking, Hiking, Cycling, Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing. You will be required to sign a waiver upon registration. Each Registrant is responsible for reserving their own admission to Kelso Main Gate which can be done online at parkvisit.ca |

Trip Safety Requirements, What to Bring |
A Safety perimiter will be set up on the water, comprised of members who are fully capable of performing assisted rescues. All participants are expected to be wearing a PFD at all times while on the water, AND are required to follow the instructions of the members on the water at all times (NO EXCEPTIONS) What to bring - water, snacks, clothing suitable for immersion (no cotton), towel, water shoes, a change of clothing |
